Where does this pixel drain to?

Click anywhere inside a basin on the map to see where that pixel ultimately drains. Every 90 m pixel within the basin shares the same outlet. The panel shows the outlet location, the basin’s bounding box, its window on the 90 m grid, and the MERIT Hydro tiles covering it. Open the example basin above the map to follow the downstream path from any pixel to the outlet.

FullBasin identifies 340,991 basins larger than 1 km² worldwide from MERIT Hydro; those larger than 100 km² are shown here.

The basin ID gives the answer without any tracing. To see the path itself, switch to the example basin above the map and click a pixel: the page follows the flow directions step by step until the water reaches the outlet.

Basin details

Pick a basin on the map. The panel then gives that basin’s outlet, its bounding box, its window on the global 90 m grid, and the MERIT Hydro tiles covering it.
