Basin and region mask

Based on HydroSHEDS v2 (Lehner et al., 2022), the 1 arc-second flow directions, about 30 m at the equator.

Step 0 of FullBasin on HydroSHEDS v2 30 m. The basin mask assigns every land pixel of North America to one of 30,077,037 basins, numbered by area: basin 1 is the largest. The region masks group whole basins into regions small enough to process on their own; there are four partitions of the same basins into regions: the HydroBASINS level-3 units (48 regions), and three capacity partitions of 160, 80 and 40 square degrees (106, 201 and 404 regions). A basin's own region is its level-3 one. The tables are the released tables with their own columns, every number the 30 m value; the basin table holds the 105,581 basins above 1 km², one row per basin in id order (continental_basin_id; global_basin_id is −9999 until a numbering across continents exists). The map draws the same basins and regions, simplified, every basin at every zoom.
